Microsteel boasts over 40 years of expertise in investment and centrifugal casting.
1978: MICROSTEEL founded in Vern-sur-Seiche (35) with an investment casting activity for the aeronautics industry.
1994: CIMD founded in Corps-Nuds (35), specializing in centrifugal casting and cobalt based machining.
2003: Merger between MICROSTEEL and CIMD, now MICROSTEEL-CIMD.
2008: extension of the Vern-sur-Seiche site, installation of a vacuum heat treatment oven.
2011: extension of the Corps-Nuds site, installation of a 150 Kg rail-mounted induction melting furnace, acquisition of a 4-axis machining center.
2012 / 2013: second phase of the Vern-Sur-Seiche site extension works, installation of a melting furnace for titanium cast parts (25 Kg capacity) and superalloys (80 Kg capacity).
2014: acquisition of two new wire cutting machines and a lapping machine for the Corps-Nuds site.
2015: acquisition of a ZEISS three-dimensional inspection machine, acquisition of new wire cutting machines, acquisition of a titanium mold preheating furnace.
2017: VIRGO group founded, encompassing MICROSTEEL-CIMD and BESNARD, experts in thermoforming, rotational molding and machining, based in Flers (Orne department).
2018: MICROSTEEL CIMD acquires cutting-edge machining equipment designed to machine foundry parts, and provides customers with a comprehensive service offer. Didier Chaboche appointed as new CEO.
2019: The Vern-sur-Seiche site extended by 550 sq.m for material storage purposes: site reorganized to accommodate the production of larger parts. Acquisition of a third heat treatment oven.
2020: Didier Chaboche appointed President of the VIRGO group.
MICROSTEEL now active on the medical prostheses market and awarded ISO 13485-certification.
2021: investment casting, centrifugal casting and machining activities concentrated on the Vern-sur-Seiche site, extended by over 2,500 sq.m and upgraded with the installation of two new induction furnaces. MICROSTEEL’s total production plant covers more than 6,100 sq. m.
VIRGO group revamps its visual design, signature and logo.
2022: acquisition of 2 machining centers with 5 robotized axes and a tribofinishing machine dedicated to medical prostheses finishing.
